Green Smoothie Love!

Getting more greens in, is always a struggle.

It shouldn’t be.

I do love ANYTHING with Spinach… and Kale chips are leaning towards a full blown addiction around here!

The trick to eat them in their raw state is always a challenge, I understand.

But ta-da! Green juice and smoothies to your rescue! They are just superb for this.

I must confess, we don’t make them as often as we should. Ssssh… don’t tell anyone.

But… here is a simple, cheap and body loving recipe for djooo. :-)

Green Mango Smoothie Recipe

  • What you need is some good quality water. (we fetch our water from a spring… for free!) You can find a spring close to you by visiting http://www.findaspring.com
  • Two bananas
  • A mango
  • As much spinach as you feel you can handle. We add a good handful or two.. or three, with the stems included.

Whizz it all up and you have breakfast for less then R5. Me likes. Me loves.

Does it taste good? Yip, it is sweet and perfectly palatable. The kids drink them too.

After a while you will even crave them. But you didn’t hear that from me!

Hi that looks delicious and super healthy! Can you suggest a good alternative to the mango? (I’m allergic to it).

Sounds delicious. I have been looking for water based smoothies and this one looks great. I don’t have a spring for the spring water either, but have a Cleansui water filter jug that gives me bacteria free water and the peace of mind that I don’t have any pollutants. This coupled with organic fruit and veg in my smoothies… it doesn’t come better than than.
