Turn up the heat with our homemade chili hot sauce – a fiery blend of spices, apple cider vinegar and chili peppers!
Lately, we’ve developed a bit of an addiction. The more chilis we consume, the more chilis we need to consume. Our heat tolerance has gone up significantly and the feel-good feeling after eating something spicy, is so worth it. We are unable to resist the mouth-burning deliciousness of chili and apparently it is a thing! It turns out that chili isn’t just good for our taste buds, it is good for our moods as well. Eating chilis releases endorphins and dopamine, hormones that are related to happiness and pleasure. A feeling of a runners high. If you feel like you’re addicted to chili, you probably are.
Needless to say, we recently found ourself with an abundance of chilis. Cayenne chilis, bird’s eye chilis, habanero chilis and red thai chilis!
There was nothing to do with them, except EVERYTHING! So, we tried our hand at experimenting with a few chili hot sauce recipes. Adding a bit of this and removing a bit of that. And I think we have found a winning recipe.
For those who love some extra heat in their cooking, a homemade chili hot sauce is an essential staple. From tacos and soups to stews and even grilled cheese sandwiches, this versatile condiment can take any dish up a notch. Plus, creating your own custom hot sauce recipe is easy – you control how mild or spicy it is! Make a delicious chili hot sauce to add some zing to your cooking!

Grow your own chilis!
When de-seeding the chilis for the hot sauce, we throw the seeds into a pot in our garden and let it sit for a day or two to dry out nicely and then start watering every day a little. And before you know it, you have your own chili plants!
