Radishes has never really been a favourite. Yip, I said it! The only place they lived, were in salads. They taste sharp and peppery. I buy them for their aesthetics, only to shrivel up and die in my fridge. Sad. Sad.
Buuuuut….. that was the old me!
The NEW ME… LOVES radishes! Completely. In fact, I am a little besotted over them now. If you have never tried roasted radishes, do yourself a favour and throw these beauties into a roasting dish with butter, garlic, salt, pepper and herbs. Soooo good. When are radishes in season and when to grow them?
Grow the food you love! Radishes can be found in stores almost all-year-round, as they are easy to grow.
Radishes love growing in the cooler months. So planting seeds from Autumn through to beginning Spring is most desired. They grow really quickly and only takes a month from seed to harvest! Roasted Radish Recipe
Roasted radishes is probably the most well kept secret ever! I use radishes in salads and/or thinly sliced on sandwiches. But boy oh boy are you in for a treat! Radishes tastes sweet and soft when you roast them. They lose their peppery taste. Roasting them with the greens makes them extra delectable.
Get a bunch of radishes. 9 Should do. Depending on their size. I like to leave the greens on when I roast them, as they go nice and crispy. Rinse your radishes very well in some water.
Cut your radish in half.
Add them to a pan with parchment paper and drizzle some olive oil or butter over. Sprinkle some salt and pepper over. Add the minced garlic and herbs as well.
Roast for about 15 - 20 minutes. The radishes should be slightly browned. The greens should be crispy.
Drizzle some lime juice over the radishes. If you want an extra flavour, add caesar or ranch dressing over and enjoy!

July 12, 2020 at 4:32 pmI think the different radishes makes a difference. I used the red radishes and the Easter egg radishes. The Easter egg ones were my favourite. Also, roasting them with the leaves is my favourite way to eat them.
